Safety First:
This is an activity to use when you talk about God's protection, staying safe.
One at a time show one of the photos. Ask the group how the person or item in the photo can keep them safe. You can choose who answers or answer as a group.
Example: Show the photo of a seatbelt. Ask everyone how that can be used to keep someone safe. Answer: it holds us in place in case we get into an accident. If we don’t have our seatbelt on and get into an accident we could get hurt.
Alternate: Pass out a photo to each child. Give them a minute to think and explain that when it is their turn they will share with the group what their photo is and how that can be used to keep us safe.
Photos:
Band-aid : covers a wound, keeps it clean, prevents infection
Dog: can bark if they hear noises outside, can keep away bad guys
Police man: their job is to keep us safe, to catch bad guys, to enforce laws
Fireman: responds to accidents, puts out fires, rescues people in danger
Fire extinguisher: puts out fires
Seat belt: keeps us in out seat if there is an accident
Booster seat: keeps us safe in the car, protects us in accidents
Fence: Keeps animals out of our yard, gives us a secure place to play outside
